This mid-weight, versatile Sicilian wine is red fruited and brambly (thank Perricone grape) -- with purple highlights (Nero d'Avola). With satisfying concentration that doesn't feel too klunky, this red finishes with flat-drying tannins -- present but not too persistent. Ripeness is there but in check. As much a pizza wine as a backyard BBQ wine -- great with a variety of grilled things (veggies, meat) and still enjoyable after the food is gone.

Fresh, acidic-leaning, mineral, saline/briny and extremely drinkable and easy to enjoy.

A light-medium red Pinot-like color in the glass. Shows aromas of red and black fruits, with balsamic hints. Medium weight on the palate but very flavorful, long on the finish and excellent balance. This wine has far more weight and complexity than you'd expect from the relatively pale color.
